I write, I parent, and I live my life from a Catholic/Christian perspective. A practicing Catholic, I have tried to structure my life in way that not only adheres to Catholic teaching, but directs and leads my family to God. My married life--my parenthood--it is a vocation from God. I believe God calls all of us to a vocation as either a married, single or religious person (priest, monk ,sister, etc), and each of these vocations carries with it, its own set of priorities or responsibilities.
My responsibilities as a married person are to God, myself, my husband, my children, and to society.
As a child of God, I owe it to myself to love and care for this body that I have been given, to value and love myself, and to care for my emotional, spiritual, and physical needs.
As a helpmate to my husband, I strive to help him in his roles as provider for our family and husband to our children, and to help him in his journey to heaven.
As parent and provider to my children, I hope to teach them, not only how to be successful adults in this world (whatever that looks like for them) but also to lead them into a full and lasting relationship with God, through His Son, Jesus.
Finally, as a member of society, I hope to touch my neighbors in some small way, to leave my friends.. my neighborhood.. this world a little better for my having been in it.
In the Faith and Family section of this site, you will find articles that I hope will inspire and encourage you in your walk with God, and in your roles as helpmate to your husband, parent to your children, and friend to your neighbors. Thanks for reading!
